When he needed a caterer for his son’s christening party, Ken said we were the first ones who came to mind as he wanted a hog roast in Atherstone. As he has used our services in the past, this is a great compliment to us, as it means we did a good job the first time and any subsequent times. Ken agreed and said we were the best caterers he had ever hired, in terms of excellent, professional staff and wonderful, fresh, tasty, food. We can’t get a better compliment than that really, as it’s just what we aim for.
Ken’s family had thoroughly enjoyed our pig in buns when we catered a party for them last summer, so that’s what he asked us to provide again for the christening. If you haven’t heard of pigs in buns, they are hog roast rolls, where we roast a pig for hours until the meat is lovely and tender and the skin has turned into crispy crackling, and we fill bread rolls with pieces of both. Topped with our homemade apple sauce and stuffing and your choice of condiments and voilà – pigs in buns.
When the family returned from the christening Sunday lunchtime, their hog roast Atherstone had cooked to perfection and we were putting together fresh salads and slicing the buns. The guests crowded round our gazebo, all licking their lips, as they couldn’t wait to tuck into our gorgeous food.
