Hog Roast Fazeley – Open Mic Night

“I don’t exactly want to bribe people to come up on stage,” said Graham, the manager of a bar that was about to launch its first open mic night, “but I think a free hog roast buffet afterwards for all performers might encourage a few more people to take part.” Hog Roast Fazeley strongly agreed with Graham and to make him feel better, we suggested the word ‘incentive’ rather than ‘bribe’!

Graham’s pub is known as a local live music venue, but after always playing it safe and hiring established acts, Graham wanted to get a weekly open mic night up and running to encourage budding musicians to show off their raw talent to the rest of the patrons. And what better way to drum up interest (no pun intended!) than the tantalising aroma of one of our slow-cooked hog roasts, to get every wannabe Bob Dylan’s creative juices flowing? None whatsoever as far as Graham was concerned! His only worry was that we might end up stealing the limelight from the acts on stage, as from what he understood, hog roasting is by nature, a very ‘on show’ style of cooking. We assured Graham that while some clients like their guests to get involved in the cooking process and want our magnificent hog roast machines to be a focal point of the evening, Hog Roast Fazeley are equally adept at working behind the scenes and being roadies for the night, providing the same high quality food, regardless of how much showmanship has been involved.

Reassured that there would be no distractions from the fresh talent on stage other than the enticing scent of our equally fresh ingredients being prepared in the beer garden, Graham managed to relax and bask in the success of his first open mic night. The pub was even more packed than usual with its music loving clientele eager to hear the new live entertainment on offer. The local performers jumped at the chance to dust off their guitars and exercise their vocal chords. They were queuing up to get on stage and were rewarded for their courage in the best possible way with Hog Roast Fazeley waiting in the wings to feed them afterwards!
